A retrospective look at the Janoura Residence
-Max Strang
[Sophisticate] a “tropical modern” aesthetic akin to the exclusivity of the Janoura Residence, while understating the general shape, form, and size.
• Pronounced by depth.
• Minimized in its grandeur.
• Framed through crafty symmetry.
We’ve sophisticated the approach to this home with a streetside one-story structure—minimizing the massing of the overall design. Advanced features include deep overhangs and highly-detailed louvered panels. Especially eye-drawing are the detached, minimalistic cabanas that frame the symmetrical design.
Detailed and unified from the inside out. We brought elements from the outside to the inside, and shared interior elements outside—making the home and it's surroundings feel fused and whole.
The dark micro-cement exterior finishes add just the right contrast and a dramatic edge. Interior space is well thought-out for a family of four, including an open plan—well defined by the interior design, custom ceilings, and material upgrades.
