Two interlocking, rectangular volumes create a dynamic residential design in a leafy suburb of Miami. The upper floor houses the communal living areas of the home and is clad in wood panels and louvers. The volume floats above an exterior living area that enables the family to experience a truly subtropical lifestyle. The ground floor of the home houses private living spaces. Each space is afforded privacy and sun-shading via a strategically spaced arrangement of architectural elements. The home is well adapted to its elongated suburban site and maximizes the experience of the lush natural context.
